I am a native of Charleston, West Virginia, descended from a long line of mountaineers on both sides of my family.  But, I grew up in in Charleston in the Kanawah River Valley where my family lived over a Kroger store and our playground was the lush state capitol grounds just a block from home.  Charleston felt safe, kids walked to school and bus service could take us anywhere too far to go on foot.  I've always thought I grew up in Charleston, WV perfectly prepared to live in New York City.  Well, that never happened but John and I lived in Rochester, New York for eleven years.  Long enough in "the other NY" to consider it home too.  We absolutely loved everything about Rochester except the gray days of  a "lake effect" climate.  We also lived on the New Jersey shore and spent eleven years in Atlanta, Georgia before returning home to eastern North Carolina.

Although I'll always be a mountaineer, my family relocated to Raleigh when I was still a teenager and thus began my love affair with eastern NC and the mighty Atlantic Ocean. I first saw the ocean crashing on Topsail Island on a late fall day in 1966 and now live just fifteen minutes from that same sandy spot.

I bring a career in retail management to the practice of real estate.  In 2000, I decided it was time to get that license I'd talked about for years.  Subsequently, I began my real estate career with John Wieland Homes in Atlanta where I represented Wieland Realty as an on-site agent in upscale new home communities.  In 2004, when John and I moved full time to the Wilmington area, I moved into the resale market.

love gardening because nature does part of the work.  If I just get it started and take care of it, God will do the rest.

My passion is real estate and, while I wish research took less time, I believe the time I spend to assure expertise is an investment in our Clients future.
